Candidates Who Are Not Attached to a Job

Helpful Hint: When creating a search, it is helpful to first come up with a clear idea for your report. Think about which candidates you want to report on (the "Who"), what details you want to know about them (the "What"), and how you want to organize the information (the "How"). The more specific you are with your idea, the easier it will be to break it down into sections, which will help you choose the right Keywords and Filters (for "Who"), Columns (for "What") and/or Group-Bys and Sort-Bys (for "How") for your report. This three section concept is used below to search for candidates who are not attached to any jobs.

Scenario: You would like to find actively-engaged general consideration candidates that are not currently attached to any jobs.

1. Break your report idea down into the three sections to help determine the best way to create your search:
  • Who are you reporting about: Using filters, you can narrow down your results to candidates who are not attached to any jobs.
  • What do you want to know about them: Using columns, you can view how actively engaged these general candidates are with your organization.
  • How would you like this information organized: Using sort-bys, you can organize your candidates by those who are most actively engaged

2. To create your search inside the iCIMS system, from the top menu bar, select Search > Person > Candidate. The "Who," "What," and "How" directly correlate with the three sections (A, B, and C, respectively) outlined in the below image.

A. Keywords and Filters: Who are you reporting about?

To search for candidates who are not attached to any jobs, add a filter for # of Associated Recruiting Workflow.

  • Keywords: N/A
  • Filters:
1. Select Add Filter and add # of Associated Recruiting Workflow. The selection path is Reporting & Advanced Options > # of Associated Recruiting Workflow
2. Set the center dropdown to Equal to. In the box containing  – Blank –, type 0.
  • Tip: If you have iCIMS Connect (Legacy CRM) and would like to also eliminate candidates attached to talent pools from this report, add the # of Associated Sourcing Workflow filter as well, then follow step 2 above.
B. Columns: What do you want to know about these candidates?

To see how actively engaged the general consideration candidates are with your organization, add Activity Level as a column. For more information on Activity Level, see the Viewing Candidate Activity Level section of the Evaluating Candidates in Talent Pools in iCIMS Connect (Legacy CRM) article.
  • Columns:
1. Select Add Column and add Activity Level. The selection path is Reporting & Advanced Options - General > Activity Level

C. Group Results By and Sort Results By: How would you like this information organized?

To see the most actively engaged candidates at the top of your search results, add Activity Level as a sort-by.

  • Group Results By: N/A
  • Sort Results By
1. Select Add Sort-By and add Activity Level. The selection path is Reporting & Advanced Options - General > Activity Level
2. Set the order to Descending (Z to A) to see the more engaged candidates first.
