Overview

With iCIMS Video Studio, your organization can showcase your authentic employer brand through employee-generated video testimonials. Video Studio consolidates and streamlines the video creation, editing, captioning, and publication process.

Note: iCIMS Video Studio is only available to customers hosted in the US or EU.

Video Studio’s add-on Capture feature allows admin users to record instructions or demonstrations of best practices from within a browser. Once a screen recording is saved to a Video Studio workspace, admin users can edit the video in the Lab and then publish and share it through all the usual channels.

Details on how admin users in workspaces with Capture enabled can record and review screen recordings are outlined in the sections below. Notes:
  • This feature requires both an iCIMS Video Studio workspace and the additional Capture add-on feature.

Recording Your Screen

To record your screen, admin users must first add the iCIMS Browser Extension in either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and log into the Video Studio feature set. For more information on these steps, review the Using the iCIMS Browser Extension and Using the iCIMS Video Studio Browser Extension articles.

Admin users who are logged into the Video Studio browser extension can record their screens using the following steps:
  1. Open the Web pages and/or applications you want to record.
  2. Select the iCIMS Browser Extension from your browser’s menu bar and select the Video Studio button.
  3. Within the browser extension control panel, select the workspace to which you want to record.
  4. Select the circular avatar icon in the upper right corner of the browser extension control panel and select Record Screen.
  5. Grant permission for the browser extension to use your microphone if you have not already done so.
  6. Optional: If you wish to include an inset video from your camera, select the Include User Camera checkbox and grant permission for the browser extension to use your camera if you have not already done so.
  7. Select the Start Recording button. The Choose What to Share popup displays. Select whether to record your entire screen, one application window, or a tab within your browser.
  8. Within your chosen category, select the specific screen, window, or tab to record and select the Share button. A countdown displays, after which the browser extension starts to record your screen.
  • Note: To exit the countdown and return to the beginning of this step without recording, select Cancel.
  1. Complete the actions you want to record, including speaking any desired instructions or descriptions to accompany your actions.
  2. Optional: Use the tool panel in the lower right corner to write on your screen and select the color for that writing, to toggle your camera on and off, or to pause your recording as desired.
  3. When you have finished recording, select the Stop button from the tool panel. A popup displays.
  4. Review your recording in the popup if desired.
    • If you are satisfied with your recording, select Save to Workspace to save your recording to the workspace currently selected within your browser extension.
    • If you are not satisfied with your recording, select Discard and Retry to discard the recording without saving and to begin a new recording.
  5. Optional: If you selected Save to Workspace, enter a Title and Description for your recording into the corresponding text fields and select a Visibility level from the corresponding dropdown menu. If desired, select the Add CTA Button checkbox to add a button label and URL for a call to action button; once the video is shared, this button provides a direct path from the video in a player to the linked Web page.
    • Note: Visibility level affects where the recording can and cannot be shared.
      • Owner: Cannot be shared via link or feeds.
      • Link Only: Can be embedded using a link but cannot be shared to feeds.
      • Everyone: Can be shared via embedded link or as part of a feed. This is the equivalent of an answer video having a status of Approved.
  6. Select Submit to save. A new browser tab opens to display your Video Studio workspaces. To review saved screen recordings, review the next section.

Reviewing Saved Screen Recordings

From your organization’s Video Studio workspace, admin users can access both the original versions of all users’ screen recordings and any edited versions by following the steps outlined below.
  1. From the menu bar, select the Videos page.
  • Note: You can also select or unselect the Answer Videos checkbox to filter whether answer videos are included along with screen recordings.
  1. Select a screen recording to review. The Video Details page displays.
  2. Review the video and/or the associated information as presented across the following sections of the Video Details page:
  • Video player: Allows you to play back the screen recording. From this left side panel you can also review the text of your CTA button and where it links (if applicable), download associated media files, and copy the video’s embed code and/or email preview (depending on visibility settings).
  • Details tab: Displays the video’s Title, Description, Button Text, Button URL, Visibility, and Owner, all of which you can edit. From this tab you can also review the video’s history and/or access the Lab editor.
  • Captions tab: Displays the captions themselves as well as their source. From this tab you can download the captions, or you can update them by time stamp.
  • Feeds tab: Displays available feeds. Select the checkboxes next to one or more feeds to add this video to those feeds. If a note displays indicating that the video is not public and cannot be added to feeds, return to the Details tab and update the visibility to Everyone to enable sharing via feeds.
  1. Optional: If you have made changes to the information in a tab, select Save to save them.
  2. Select the Videos page from the menu bar to exit the Video Details page and return to the Videos page.
