Overview

Candidate Job Recommendations is a powerful feature that recommends jobs for iCIMS Connect (Legacy CRM) candidates based on their interests and automatically sends them a weekly job digest related to their subscribed talent pools.

This feature requires iCIMS Connect and iCIMS Applicant Tracking and requires initial setup actions from a user admin.

Tip: At a minimum, the first step below is also required in order to take advantage of the ability to display related talent pools after an active candidate has applied for a job on an Applicant Tracking career site.

  1. Associate Talent Pools with Jobs.
  • Each job and job template has a standard field labeled Talent Pools. (Detail Tab > General Information Section > Talent Pools)

For each open and approved role, job template (if practical), and future opening, one or more talent pools should be associated with the job. This action triggers the following associations between jobs and talent pools:
  • A list of related jobs displays when candidates complete the Connect sign-up process and select one or more talent pools (interests). This does not apply in Kiosk Mode.
  • A list of job recommendations is available to candidates whenever they are logged in to the career site via the View Your Job Recommendations button on their Dashboard.
  • A weekly job digest is automatically sent to candidates that includes the ten most recently-posted jobs that are related to their talent pools of interest, if they choose to receive this message. (If no new jobs related to that talent pool are posted that week, no email will be sent.)
  • A list of related talent pools displays to active candidates on the career site when they have finished applying for a job, allowing them to easily subscribe or unsubscribe from those talent pools.
Tips:
  • For Candidate Job Recommendations to function to its fullest potential, iCIMS recommends that most or all jobs be associated with at least one talent pool. This may require the creation of additional talent pools.
Jobs that are not associated with a talent pool will not display to candidates as part of the Connect process nor within job digests; related talent pools also will not display after the candidate applies to a job via the Applicant Tracking career site.
  • Talent pool values may be added individually to jobs or via Bulk Edit. (Note: Users cannot remove values via this method.) To add talent pool values via Bulk Edit, follow the steps below:
    1. Access a Job search (Search > Job).
    2. Add the filter Job Status (Category) is, then select all applicable Job Status Categories for your search.
    3. Add any additional filters that will assist you in locating jobs that should be associated with this talent pool. For example, if you have a Customer Service talent pool, you may be able to locate jobs that fit this talent pool by adding a Department...is...Customer Service filter. (Note: The correct criteria will be wholly dependent on your organization’s hiring process, talent pools, and configurations.)

  1. Review the results to confirm that all jobs should be associated with this talent pool. Then, click the Select All checkbox and click More > Bulk Edit.

  1. In the Edit Profiles popup, select Detail from the Tab dropdown and Talent Pools from the Field dropdown. Then, select the correct talent pool from the Talent Pool dropdown and click Save. (Note: Only one talent pool can be added at a time; the value selected will be added to any additional values assigned to that job.)

  1. Repeat this general process until all jobs and job templates have been assigned to at least one talent pool.
  • To review jobs that do not yet have any associated talent pools, run a Job search and add any necessary filters to remove jobs that need not have associated talent pools (e.g., closed jobs). Then, group the results by Talent Pool : Title (Group-Bys > Detail Tab > Talent Pools (1) > Detail Tab > Talent Pool > Detail Tab > Title) and search. Any jobs in Talent Pool : Title: Blank do not have any talent pools assigned.

Note: The jobs with a matching talent pool in the results column may already be associated with more than one talent pool.
  1. Enable the Job Recommendations Email setting.
(Admin > System Configuration > Products > Connect > Configure > Portal > Notifications > Social Connect – Job Recommendations > Job Recommendations Email)
  • Review the default template, if desired, by clicking Edit beside the Job Recommendations Email setting.
  1. Optionally, enable the Disable Job Recommendations Email to Active Candidates setting.
(Admin > System Configuration > Products > Connect > Configure > Portal > Notifications > Social Connect – Job Recommendations > Job Recommendations Email)
  • This removes candidates who are Active on a Job from job digests during the time in which they are considered active.
  1. Ensure that a default status has been set for Connect portal submissions.
    • Navigate to Admin > System Configuration > Products > Connect > Configure > Sourcing Workflow > Fields (Workflow). Select the arrow beside the Status field and select Edit Field Properties. Click Edit to launch the Status (rcf3192) popup window. Select the status that candidates who connect with your organization should be placed into by default. Make sure the checkbox for Default Status for Portal Submissions is checked for this status.
  2. Submit a case to iCIMS Technical Support and request that Candidate Job Recommendations be enabled.
